PBR Spotlight Game: Bishop Foley vs Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard

2014 Division C-D Catholic League Champion Bishop Foley took on Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard in a semi-final matchup. The winner would advance to the Catholic League championship at Comerica Park.

2017 Justin Campbell took the mound for Foley dominating the Gabriel Richard hitters. Campbell threw a complete game shutout with 8 strikeouts.

Foley took an early 1 run lead in the 1st inning. 2016 Thomas Brumfield legged out an infield single and scored on an RBI double from DH 2016 Curtis Stimac.

In the bottom of the 5th Foley’s offense erupted for 5 runs.

Stimac opened the inning with an infield single but was later thrown out on a fielder’s choice from 2017 Payton Schuster. 2017 Santos Guzman crushed a double to left field scoring Schuster. 2017 Jacob Thomas followed up with an RBI single through the 5-6 hole bringing in Guzman. 2015 John Carroll University commit Cam Horwath also added an RBI single to score Thomas.

The hits continued as 2015 Western Michigan commit Nate Grys singled to right scoring Horwath and Brumfield doubled to bring in Grys. 

Foley added their final run in the 6th inning. Horwath was walked reaching first base, Grys crushed a 365 ft line drive double off the left field gate to score Horwath making it a 7-0 game.

Foley advanced to the Catholic League C-D Division Championship Game at Comerica Park.
