Rising Stock: 2014 Joe Wolf, RHP/SS (Utica Stevenson HS)

Joe Wolf has recently started to come into his own.  Last spring we saw Wolf pitch well and throw three pitches for strikes.  This summer, Wolf attended the Open ID Showcase in September, where he had a solid day all around.  

Wolf displays good actions in both the field and on the mound.  His highest upside is on the mound where he has a nice loose whip-like arm that is extremely quick.  Most importantly, Wolf knows how to pitch.  The 6-foot, 160-pound Wolf can spin the ball well and he uses his 12-6 breaking ball to produce swings and misses.  Wolf projects to have a mid 80's fastball this spring. He currently sits 80-82 mph.
