Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Alex Goodwin, C/OF, Midland HS, 2013

Today our featured spotlight is on No. 61 in the 2013 class, Alex Goodwin.

The 5-foot-9 Goodwin is a multiple sport athlete that can add depth and versatility to a roster. He should not be overlooked because of his size. At 7.0 in the 60-yard dash, Goodwin is quick for a catcher and can play in the outfield if needed.  He demonstrates nice receiving skills behind the plate as he moves cleanly to the ball.  From the outfield, Goodwin has a strong arm registering 83mph and his throws were consistently on the bag.  Offensively Goodwin displays a short stroke with consistent contact.

Goodwin will be a three year starter for Midland HS and during the summer months he plays for Midland Berryhill.  A two time Saginaw Valley All-Conference performer, Goodwin is one to watch this spring.
