Zak Kmet, SS/RHP, Garden City HS, 2013

Kmet is a bigger bodied athlete that has pop in his bat.  We project him to play third base at the next level.  In the infield, Kmet has sure and steady hands that made all of the plays. Despite not being the fastest runner, he was able to range both to into the hole and up the middle to complete most plays.  Thus it appears he is best suited for third base long term. His arm again was solid measuring at 76 mph across the diamond.

Kmet's best attribute is his bat.  He has a good approach at the plate and carries himself with confidence.  His set up is smooth and balanced.  His hands work well with some barrel whip through the zone which generates good pop.  His exit velocity was measured at 83 mph.

Lastly, Kmet is an excellent student and will be a four year starter for Garden City High School.  He has a 3.5+ GPA and has been an All-Academic pick three years in a row.  He is a 2-time All-Conference selection, 2-time All-District performer, and an All-Region pick in 2011.  Kmet expects to help Garden City compete for another District championship in 2013.
