“With 63% of the innings from last year returning in 2020, the Mustangs expect to be very good on the mound in 2020...Playing outstanding defense will always be a priority; there is obviously a strong correlation between pitching/defense and winning. We expect to be very solid in the field every year, and will strive to achieve that .950 [fielding percentage] goal again in 2020. While we have a larger number of returning varsity players than usual in 2020, we did lose some key players from the 2019 team, and we’re looking forward to competition for varsity playing time! We expect to see a number of different players earn some varsity playing time early in the season as they compete for playing time in the second half of the season and on into the Section playoffs.” Head Coach Mark Downey
