PBR: Why did you choose North Iowa Area CC?
PRIDGEN: I chose NIACC because I know that the coaches there can really help me get to where I want to be, and because I really enjoyed being on the campus during my visit.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
PRIDGEN: I really had it narrowed down to NIACC and DMACC because I really did like the idea of making a 2 year commitment to see what options I have for my junior and senior year.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
PRIDGEN: Knowing that I have a home for my first 2 years of college is a big relief for me, and knowing that they are a great baseball school makes it even better. I can just focus on my classes, and my senior baseball season.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
PRIDGEN: The biggest factor for me was the coaching staff. When I was on my visit, Coach Hergert really made me feel like I could live there for 2 years. I also really like the way he wants to attack the game, and I feel like I could fit in well with the rest of the program.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
PRIDGEN: If it wasn't for my dad introducing me to the game, I wouldn't be in the spot I am now, so he is the person I have to thank the most.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
PRIDGEN: Going into the process, I was clueless as to how it went, but I quickly realized that everything happens so fast. It was a little difficult at first figuring out visits, getting to know coaches and trying to fit that into my schedule, but it didn't end up being too difficult in the end making a final decision.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
PRIDGEN: The plans are for me to make a big impact freshman year, and I'll have the chance to compete for a weekend job right away. The coaches and I want for me to have a key role in the rotation from the start.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
PRIDGEN: This entire summer has been my best memory. Playing at amazing fields with my teammates, the long 10+ hour car rides with them, spending time in the hotel together, and really getting to know your teammates is a great thing, and I wouldn't have spent my summer any other way.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
PRIDGEN: The best player I've competed against was Tommy Gillman. I played against him in Arizona this January, and he was one of the best infielders I've ever seen. And he was the first and only kid I've ever been truly worried about pitching to.
