PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Yost: I chose Minot State because I love the coaching staff and the overall feeling of the school. I believe Minot will be where I can develop my game while hopefully getting some playing time early in my college career.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Yost: Other schools I considered were NIACC and Iowa Western Community College.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

Yost: Coach Eul from Minot first saw me at the PBR Prospect ID event in Mankato. He shot me a text a week or so later and we started talking from there. I went to a camp up in Minot and loved meeting all of the coaches.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Yost: Committing relieved a lot of the stress. Now, I can just focus on my game instead of searching for colleges to play for.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Yost: The deciding factor for me was the feeling I got from talking to the coaches and former Minot players. It really felt like home in Minot. They also have great athletic facilities where I will be able to grow stronger and become a better pitcher.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Yost: My mother is the person who helped me most in my baseball career. Being a single mother and supporting three children isn’t an easy thing to do. She took me to all of my showcases and baseball games around the nation.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Yost: I was super nervous when I was first being recruited after my junior season. But I really enjoyed all of the attention I received from several coaches.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Yost: The coaching staff wants me to gain about 30 pounds my freshman year at Minot. Hopefully I will be able to get right on the field and start playing right away.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Yost: My most memorable moment is actually currently in the making. My childhood friend, Cameron, and I have played ball together since we were 6. I moved to Minnesota in 8th grade and we lost touch a little bit. We started talking about baseball over the phone and found out we were both being recruited by Minot. And now we are both committed to Minot and will be roommate’s freshman year.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Yost: The best player I have competed against was probably Ryan Sleeper. We had a good matchup when I pitched against him. Ryan is an insanely good ball player and I can’t wait to see where he ends up in the future.
