The PBR Iowa Limited Series Tournament featured select 2021 and 2022 grad teams; with many rosters dotted with up-and-coming top committed and uncommitted grads from across the Midwest. The tournament was held in Des Moines, IA over the weekend with games played at Grand View U., Waukee High School and at WDM Valley. Keep checking back as we are continuing to update the blog and highlight the high volume of performances that were turned in this weekend.

Sam Malec 2021 RHP - Great Lakes Lumberjacks 2021
Long, unique low-¾ arm action. Malec hides the ball well and his fastball jumps on batters. Sat 88-89 topping out at 92 mph in the 5th inning. He complimented his fastball with a nasty 10-4 slider with a lot of movement. Malec also successfully used his 83-84 mph changeup that has sink to the arm side. Legit 3 pitch mix. Minnesota commit.

Sam Wragge, RHP/INF, 2021 - Nebraska Prospects Scout 2021
Good frame and more in the arm has he continues to add strength. Went right at hitters with a short arm action and a heavy ball. Fastball was 83-85, topping at 86mph. Good feel and intent for his offspeed: 74-75mph 11/5 curveball that had a smaller shape, but broke late in the zone. Also, a 75-76 mph change up. Projectable arm. Uncommitted.

Jackson Wentworth 2021 RHP - IA Sticks Sorge
Big frame. Quick arm that throws downhill. Legit 3 pitch mix. Fastball sat 90-91 with some cut. He showed great feel for the 11/5 73-74 mph sharp curveball. He also added an 82-83mph changeup that showed fade and sink. Swung the bat well too with a double off the wall and a single. Kansas State commit.
