On Sunday, March 20th, PBR Minnesota will be headed to the Edina Dome to host one of the biggest showcases of the year.  The PBR MN Preseason All-State is an “Invite-Only” event, exclusive to 2023 grads.  It will spotlight numerous athletes from in and around the state of Minnesota.

In the past seven years this event has taken place, more than 475 participants have made college commits. The Minnesota 2023 class currently has 13 players who have made college commitments and this year’s roster looks to add exponentially to that total once the recruitment of the 2023 class is complete.

This year’s roster is loaded with talent across the board. Of the 13 already committed players, four will be attending Sunday’s event; East Ridge’s RHP, Trevor Lee (Wichita State), Grand Fork Red River’s SS, Gunnar Heuchert (Minnesota), Hopkins C, Drew Charney (Butler) and Cretin-Derham Hall’s C/RHP, Jack Taxdahl (Minnesota)

The highest ranked uncommitted player who will be in attendance is Rockford’s Alex Altmann. Altmann, who participated in last summer’s Future Games, is a left-handed hitting, left-handed throwing outfielder. Ranked 6th in Minnesota’s 2023 class, Altmann puts up impressive numbers for his size.  At 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, the lefty runs a 6.70-60 yard dash, throws 87 mph from the outfield and puts up an impressive 100.8 trackman exit velocity. The top ranked bat could be one of the hotter commodities this spring and summer.

Another lefty who will be participating this Sunday is Andrew Rakow out of Champlin Park High School. Rakow, who is currently ranked 18th in the 2023 class, is one of the more talked about uncommitted arms in the state. Last August, at his club's scout day, the 6-foot, 210-pound arm was impressive throughout his bullpen. The fastball sat 86-87 mph and topped at 88 mph with late run and sink. He combos that with good feel for both his slider and change-up.

It will be an action-packed day in Edina with enormous amounts of talent consolidated in one location. See you then!
