Super 60 Spotlight: Derrick Smith

On Sunday, Feb. 6, Prep Baseball Report will host the 20th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 25 first-round picks and 26 second-rounders.

We've started our march toward the Super 60 by highlighting the prospects set to join us, shining a light on their impressive player profiles that they've groomed through their high school careers, leading them to this point, vying for the attention of the pro scouting community.

Derrick is another efficient mover, with well above-average pelvis and torso rotation velocities. This puts him in a great position to take advantage of all the coiled up energy he generates from top-5 horizontal abduction in our group. Derrick touched 90.4 mph with his FB that has lower spin at 1967 avg which tends to induce a high GB%.
