Scouting Report

2018 PBR Future Games- 2/9 in game action; 2 singles, 2 walks, a HBP, and 1 RBI.

7/11/18-  6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  6.97 runner.  Balanced set-up.  Small stride to swing with a slight arm bar.  Strong stiff swing.  Good frame with present strength.  Gap to gap approach with ground ball to fly ball contact.  90 mph exit velocity.  C- Balanced and average receiver.  Strong hands that handle pitches well.  1.94-1.97 pop time.  Quick feet and transfer with good direction.  Solid accuracy and carry with downhill flight to bag.  79 mph arm strength. 

7/8/18- 6-foot, 185-pound, catcher, athletic, strong build. At the plate, open, quiet setup, stride gets back to even. Present bat strength, made consistent hard contact. Hit a line-drive sharply to left in his first at-bat and then drove a triple over the center fielders head in his next at-bat, 4.79 on the turn. Defensively, clean, quick transfer, strong arm; 2.01-2.13 in between innings and accurate. Follow 2020 catcher.

3/18/17- 5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.75 runner. Body load with leg kick trigger, athletic setup, some stiffness in swing path, slight lift, spray contact, 80 mph exit velocity. Moves well behind plate, quick to block, mobility, raw receiver, stabs occasionally and lost low strike, above avg. quick feet and exchange, fast hand path, lacked accuracy to bag at this event, 1.87-2.08 pop times with 75 mph arm strength.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Busch: NDSU, Minnesota, Ball State, Xavier, Iowa 

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?

Busch: I have taken 1 visit, and am planning on taking more this spring. 

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Busch: I am looking for a school that is a good academic fit but also develops me as a person and player. I also want a school with a good team culture.  

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your sophomore year?

Busch: The highlights of my sophomore year were hitting .479 and getting all conference and all section. 

PBR: What are your goals for this year?

Busch: My goals for this year and to lead my team to the state tournament and continue to get better every day. 

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Busch: I played football up until junior year and I also wrestle. 

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?

Busch: My GPA is 3.0 and have not taken the ACT
