Season Outlook
The Valle Catholic Warriors are looking for their third consecutive Class 2 State Championship in 2016.  The Warriors have solidified themselves as one of the top teams in the state in any class, reaching the 30-win plateau in each of the last two season.  Their schedule will again include games against Class 5 state champions, Christian Brothers College, and Class 4 state champions, Notre Dame.  They will be well prepared for the postseason in May.  Valle Catholic will be lead by one of the top shortstops in the state, senior Connor Basler.  Basler a two-time state champion and a 2015 1st Team All State selection will be the difference maker for the Warriors.  Not only will he have a huge impact in the line-up, he will be the number one pitcher on the staff.  Senior OF Garret Jaegers will return to the starting line this spring after missing the 2015 season.  Look for Jaegers to hit early in the Warriors order and play a key role in leading Valle Catholic in a state championship run.  The Warriors will also expect to see an increased role from sophomore RHP/IF Christian Loida, who started the last for games last season.  Senior 1B Chet Meyer also established himself as an impact player, playing in half of the games last season.  Valle Catholic is a team that can contend with any team in the state in any class.  A third-straight state championship is very attainable for this group.
