A few days after being featured in the Unsigned Senior Spotlight, RHP Brennan Hehner verbally committed to Lindenwood University. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-hander helped lead Westminster HS to its third consecutive Class 4 state championship last spring.
On a team that features two top 5-ranked 2014 prospects – SS Shane Benes and C Brett Bond – Hehner proved to be a big-game performer when he earned the victory over Logan-Rogersville by throwing five-innings of shutout relief to send the Wildcats to the championship game. For the season, Hehner went a perfect 7-0 for the 33-3 Wildcats. He finished with a 1.91 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. In 40.1 innings, he struck out 30, walked 16 and yielded 31 hits.
In other recruiting news … Blake Skeed, a 5-foot-9 C/2B from Raymore-Peculiar HS, has committed to Southwest Baptist.
