PBR Future Games: Standouts From Day 2

By Nathan Rode

The Prep Baseball Report Future Games are a unique experience for me. My career has been heavily focused on Major League Baseball’s draft so I’m always checking out the current senior class. Usually, seeing underclassmen is largely by chance or even accident. But obviously I work for PBR so how can I miss one of our biggest events of the year? It’s a huge recruiting event. The number, and caliber, of Division I schools represented here is tremendous. And I get a sneak peek at some players that could become draft prospects a couple years down the road. After a workout day and slate of eight games, here are a few players that have stood out for me—excluding players from Team Select. You can read about them here.

Jack Eagan, LHP, Wautoma HS, WI
Eagan was the first to take the mound for Team Wisconsin. He had a long inning of work, but flashed an intriguing arsenal. He has a very sturdy frame at 6-foot-3, 208 pounds and pitches from a high three-quarter slot with a medium leg kick and easy delivery. His fastball ranged from 85-88, but he touched 90 a couple times and had some arm-side life. His curveball has good spin with 1-to-7 shape. He struck out one, allowed three hits and walked two.
