2016 Super 60 - Indiana recruit. Physical 6-foot-3, 225-pound frame, strong build, wide shoulders, mature lower half. Long arm action back, wraps and cuffs on backside, high-3/4 slot. Fastball topped at 88 mph, sitting in 85-87 range, erratic around the zone, slight arm-side run. Curveball ranged between 70-73 mph, inconsistent shape, slows arm action. Changeup sat 78-80 with occasional sink.
9.5.15 - Indiana commit. Extra-large frame, big strong build. Long arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 84-85 mph, touched 86 mph. Curveball played with 12/6 shape, 70-71 mph. Changeup sat 76-78. Showed feel for all three in this outing, allowing one hit, no walks and one hit batter.
3/15/15- Indiana commit. Big strong extra-large build, 6-foot-3, 220-pound left-handed pitcher, physical frame. Delivery works in line, squared landing, showed the ability to repeat, minimal effort. Long drawing arm action, similar arm action to John Danks, high ¾ slot, strong arm. Fastball sat 89-91 mph, touched 92 mph, good downward angle, pounded the zone, showing command. Plus curveball showed excellent depth, 12/6 downer, and the ability to command, 72-74 mph. Changeup also showed command, heavy sinking action, 77-80 mph. One of the best outings we’ve seen out of Eagan, commanding three pitches he looked exceptionally more polished and pitchable. 2016 prospect should have draft interest this summer.
6/19/14 - 6-foot-3, 215-pound, left-handed two-way player, large physical build, developed lower half. One of the strongest left handed arms in the Class of 2016. Slight drop and drive style delivery, uses regular effort. Arm action is long, high draw, strong arm, high ¾ slot. Fastball ranged 86-90 mph, heavier feel when down in the zone, lacked command. Curveball worked on 11/5 plane, showed above average action, mostly down, 69-70 mph. Changeup had some cut action, near fastball arm speed, 76-79 mph. Offensively hits from the left side, slightly closed and tall setup, short stride, high hands setup. Strong swing, flashed hard contact, 89 mph exit velocity. Left handed power potential with the bat. Defensively arm played similar to that on the mound, long action with some accuracy, topped at 84 mph. Outfield defense projects in a corner spot. 7.27 runner in the 60.
3/16/14- One of the top pitching prospects in the Midwest. Large frame, strong build, wide shoulders and solid lower half, 6-foot-2, 200-pound left handed pitcher and outfielder. Projects at a very high level on the mound. Delivery is directional, can create more separation, over-rotated finish. Arm action is long and quick, gets extension, high ¾ slot. Fastball is heavy at 86-88 mph, flashed run and command of the zone, high level fastball, extremely advanced for his age. Has the secondary stuff to match. Curveball has 11/5 shape, excellent action and depth, throws aggressively with near fastball arm speed, showed control of the zone, 65-68 mph. Changeup has advanced feel, showed excellent bottom, was able to control sinking action at the bottom of the zone, 74-78 mph, fastball arm action. Eagan has a tremendous upside on the mound with a big fastball, secondary pitches to match and a durable frame Eagan is sure to garner a ton of attention this year. Offensively he hits from the left side showing pull side power with a short stride and upper body generated bat speed. Path is slightly uphill, 90 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively his arm works similar to that on the mound, showed carry and the ability to play through the baseball, 86 mph from the outfield.
3/3/13 - Highly advanced build, strong lower half, wide shoulders, overall strong build, 6-foot-2, 200-pound left handed two way player. High prospect on the mound, highly rated left handed pitcher, a top prospect in his class. Tall and fall delivery, smooth rhythm, stays on line, directional, easy effort. Arm action is long, sits between high ¾ and ¾ arm slot. Fastball has occasional run and sink, some late life, showed the ability for command, 82-84 mph. Curveball has plus potential, highly advanced for age. Curve works on 11/5 plane, shows sharp bite, excellent feel, commanded it well, 65-66 mph. Changeup is thrown with near fastball arm speed, sinking action, well above average feel, thrown for strikes, 68-70 mph. Offensively showed power potential. Hits from open stance, short stride. Lacks lower half, long path, lift in swing, hard contact, excellent bat speed for age, 86 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Eagan is a physical 6-foot-3, 200-pound two-way player. Eagan is an athletic specimen, hitting from an open stance while working to his pull side with some pop.
