Recently, we had a chance to see how the recruiting process was going for Peterson.  Below are his comments.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Peterson: Army, NWMS, UCM, Maryville, Coe and Longview.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Peterson: I’ve visited Army at West Point, NWMS, UCM and Coe.  I plan on attending camps and visiting Maryville University and William Jewell. The highlight of my summer was being one of 27 players invited to Army prospect showcase.  Eating, sleeping, playing baseball at West Point for 3 days with great talent from all over the United States was awesome.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.).

Peterson: I’m interested in Aviation, Biology and Business Management programs. I am looking for a school that has a strong academic curriculum as well as a competitive baseball program.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Peterson: I had a great year.  In High School I pitched well and had a doubles hitting streak the second half of the season.  During the summer I continued my success in doubles and triples as well as a few homeruns.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season at Rockhurst? Name some players that will play a key role for Rockhurst next spring.

Peterson: For my senior year I plan on taking my turn on the mound, at first and at third base.  Rockhurst always has a lot of strong baseball talent.  Luke Ritter at second and Tyler Benninghoff on the mound will be key. My personal goals are to continue working on arm strength and speed.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Peterson: I play for Building Champions summer and fall.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Peterson: I have a lot of fun playing basketball in the winter with my Rockhurst baseball teammates.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Peterson: 3.30 GPA and a 26 ACT.
