Player Spotlight: LHP Kole Watson (Kearney, 2016)

Kole Waston (Kearney, 2016) is a 6-foot-2 235-pound left-handed pitcher and attended the Top Prospect Games in August

Watson has an over the top release, and smooth rhythm in his delivery.  He raises knees and hands together and shows good fastball command, working both sides of plate. He is consistently down in zone with a fastball at 75-77 mph, 82 mph max.  He has a 1-to-7 curveball gradual break at 61-63 mph.  His change-up is at 70-71 mph=, with near fastball arm speed. Watson works in to RHH and struck out two hitters and walked one in outing at the Top Prospect Games.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Watson: Criminal Justice Program

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do? Name some players that will play a key role for Kearney in 2016.

Watson: I had an E.R.A of 2.17 in 35.1 innings 4-3 record 1.7 W.H.I.P of 1.69 and got 2nd team all conference team record was 18-12 and key players will be Zack Murphy, Robbie Collier, Max Ivy, Matthew Rule, Wyatt Stute, Eric Tubaugh  

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Watson: Pitch as many innings as possible and help my team win

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Watson: MoKan Giants and MoKan Giants

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Watson: No

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Watson: I received a 19 on my ACT and have a 2.8 GPA.
