Player Spotlight: OF Chase Urhahn (Cape Notre Dame, 2015)

Chase Urhahn (Cape Notre Dame, 2015) is a left-handed hitting 5-foot-11 180-pound outfielder. In the outfield, Chase throws from a high ¾ arm slot and long arm action. He has a clean exchange and throws with all of his body. Urhahn displayed really good actions to the ball. He had an outfield velo of 77 MPH. At the plate, Chase starts with an athletic setup and a smooth load. He has a short, repeatable swing with a gap-to-gap approach that can produce pull power. Urhahn produces good bat speed and posted an exit velocity of 86 MPH.  

Urhahn plays for one of the top teams in Missouri Class 4 at Cape Notre Dame, earning 2nd Team All-State honors.  During the summer, he plays for the Missouri Bulls and will be playing for the Capers out of southeast Missouri this fall.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Urhahn: Some schools that have shown interest in me are Three Rivers, Mineral Area College, Central Missouri, Bradley, Eastern Michigan, and UMSL. I've also been searched for by D1, D2, D3, JUCO, and NAIA schools on a recruiting website.
 
PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Urhahn: As of now, I have not scheduled any visits or visited any schools, but I plan to do so soon.
 
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Urhahn: I have not yet decided on a major, so I am not looking for a particular school at this time.
 
PBR: Obviously, you hooked up in a great game against Westminster in the state playoffs.  Describe your junior year as a team.  What were your high school statistics?

Urhahn: My junior year has been the most competitive year yet. I had a great year with a lot of great seniors that motivated me to do well, and a lot of them have gone on to play college ball. This season, I was All-Conference, and All-State. In 24 games, I had 36 hits, 12 doubles, 29 RBI's, .450 BA, .500 OBP,  1,139 OPS, and 24 stolen bases.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season at Cape Notre Dame?

Urhahn: My main goal is to win a state championship. My personal goals are to increase all of my stats to even better then my junior year, and to have an exciting end to my last year in high school.
 
PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Urhahn: I play for the Missouri Bulls, and I am playing for a Fall team called the Capers.
 
PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Urhahn: Yes, I play basketball.
 
PBR:  What are your ACT and GPA?

Urhahn: I have a 21 on the ACT and 3.0 GPA.
