2020 MS Top Prospect Games

The MS Top Prospect Games took place on Tuesday July, 17, 2018 at Smith-Wills in Jackson, MS. The open event saw seventy players from all across Mississippi perform in front of several college coaches and the PBR Scouting Staff.

Today we look back and explore several uncommitted 2020's that participated in the MS Top Prospect Games.

Byrion Robinson OF / LHP / Brookhaven, MS / 2020

The two-sport athlete and left-handed hitter did not participate in the positional player work out portion but took several good swing during game play finishing the day 3-for-4, making solid contact. In one inning of work on the mound, Robinson was mostly 80-83 with arm side run but did struggle to command the fastball. Also flashed a breaking ball with depth and shape at 70-72 mph.

DM'trice Booth OF / LHP / Oak Grove, MS / 2020

Is a quality athlete with a projectable, lean frame at 5-feet-11, 190-pounds Booth started the day showing his athleticism by posting a 6.71 60-yard dash time. The left-handed hitter showed loose-quick stroke with feel for the barrel during batting practice recording an 86 mph exit velocity. In the outfield, he displayed adequate arm strength with accuracy posting an 83 mph positional velocity.

Mac Sims RHP / SS / DeSoto Central, MS / 2020

Has a smaller, athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds. Working from multiple slots, with a medium arm stroke and quick hand speed, his fastball was 81-83, topping out at 85 mph. Spun several sliders that showed late breaking action at 71-76 mph. Also displayed feel to command the zone and tempo during his one inning of work.
