QUICK HITS ✍️

Parker Orr RHP / OF / Jackson Prep, MS / 2027

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Orr made a strong impression at Sunday's Mississippi Fall Games, showing off a high-spin fastball and two legitimate breaking-ball weapons, all while working his way back from a knee injury. The uncommitted right-hander worked 83–85 mph, topping at 86 with spin rates reaching 2,600 RPM, giving the heater plenty of life. The breaking stuff was equally impressive, featuring a sharp, downward-breaking curveball at 69–73 mph with spin up to 2,700 RPM, along with a 72–76 mph slider that proved especially effective against right-handed hitters. Two distinct breaking balls with quality action give Orr multiple ways to attack hitters, and the fact that he's producing this type of stuff while returning from injury makes the outing even more encouraging. With a physical frame, a quality three-pitch mix, and room for continued development, Orr is an uncommitted 2027 arm that college recruiters need to get eyes on NOW, certainly before the spring!

Rylee Gay RHP / 3B / West Marion High School, MS / 2027

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Gay certainly caught our attention in our first look at the uncommitted right-hander during Sunday's Mississippi Fall Games. Gay was sharp, attacking the zone with a fastball that worked 81–83 mph, topping at 84, while showing a quality curveball he could land for strikes consistently. The ability to command the breaking ball stood out, giving him a legitimate secondary offering to build around. With his frame and room to add strength, there's plenty of reason to believe more velocity is coming. Gay has a solid foundation, and the right collegiate program could play a major role in taking his stuff to another level. An uncommitted 2027 who made the most of his first opportunity in front of us. Recruiters looking for a developing arm should get eyes on Gay this spring!

Conner Dale RHP / 2B / Hartfield, MS / 2027

The 6-foot-2, 165-pound Dale was another uncommitted arm who opened some eyes at Sunday's Mississippi Fall Games, showing a promising arsenal with plenty of upside still to come. The right-hander worked 80–83 mph, topping at 84, with quality arm-side run that gives the fastball some added life. The breaking ball showed developing spin with more action on the horizon, while the changeup was a definite bright spot, displaying feel for the pitch and the ability to kill spin down to 1,200 RPM. There's plenty of room to add strength to the frame, and with it could come another jump in velocity and overall stuff. A projectable 2027 with a fastball that moves, feel for a quality changeup, and plenty of untapped potential. College recruiters looking for an uncommitted arm with upside need to get eyes on Dale before spring!

Reagan Allen RHP / 2B / Lewisburg High School, MS / 2029

The 6-foot-3, 150-pound Allen is a high-upside young arm with plenty to dream on as he continues to develop physically. The right-hander showed a smooth, controlled delivery with a fastball that reached 82 mph, featuring plenty of natural arm-side action. Allen also displayed impressive feel for two distinct breaking balls, including a curveball and a slider that featured the sharpest action, with spin rates around 2,400 RPM. The ability to show feel for three pitches at such a young age is encouraging, but it's the long, projectable frame and room for significant physical development that make the overall profile even more exciting. As Allen adds strength and continues to mature, there's reason to believe the velocity and overall arsenal could take a substantial jump. A young 2029 with the frame, delivery, and developing three-pitch mix to become a serious arm down the road. Definitely one to circle and follow closely!

Kash Willock OF / RHP / Ridgeland, MS / 2027

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Willock brings an impressive combination of size, speed, and arm strength to the table, with plenty of upside still remaining. The right-handed hitter turned in a strong all-around showing, posting a 6.84 60, reaching 86 mph from the outfield, and producing exit velocities up to 95 mph. That's a solid collection of measurable tools for a physical athlete whose overall game is still developing. The athleticism and present strength certainly stand out, and continued refinement could take his game to another level. Willock has the tools to make some noise this spring, and he'll be an interesting 2027 to follow as he looks to put it all together!

Parker Himmel OF / RHP / Mize, MS / 2028

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Himmel put together a strong all-around showing, making his presence felt during both the workout and gameplay. The young outfielder turned in a 7.14 60, with additional speed still developing, while showing arm strength up to 83 mph from the outfield. At the plate, Himmel produced a solid BP round with exit velocities up to 88 mph, displaying a controlled middle-to-opposite-field approach and a good feel for using the entire field. But it was during gameplay where he really stood out, collecting three hits on three line drives, showcasing impressive bat-to-ball skills and the ability to translate his swing into game production. There's plenty to like about the offensive foundation, with additional upside as he continues to get stronger and faster. A solid 2028 who let his bat do the talking, and one we're looking forward to seeing in game action this spring

Cash Crumpler SS / 2B / South Panola, MS / 2029

The 5-foot-9, 155-pound Crumpler is an exciting young infielder with quick-twitch athleticism, smooth defensive actions, and a pesky offensive approach. He started the day by blazing a 6.80 60, showing impressive speed and quickness that translate well to the dirt. Defensively, Crumpler looked the part with fluid actions, arm strength up to 84 mph across the diamond, and the athletic ability to make the dynamic play. At the plate, he showed an advanced ability to spray line drives to all fields, producing exit velocities up to 93 mph with a swing geared toward consistent contact. That approach carried into gameplay, where he delivered a big RBI triple, showing the ability to impact the game beyond the workout setting. A high-energy 2029 with speed, defensive versatility, and a tough out at the plate. Crumpler has the ingredients to become a real catalyst, and we'll be watching his progression closely!

Seth Welch OF / 1B / Hamilton, MS / 2028

The 5-foot-10, 155-pound Welch made an impressive return to action after an injury, picking up right where he left off and reminding everyone why he's a name to know in Mississippi's 2028 class! Welch wasted no time showing off his elite speed, blazing a 6.60 60, while displaying accurate throws from the outfield with arm strength reaching the low 80s. At the plate, he showed plenty of offensive upside, producing exit velocities up to 96 mph with a solid middle-to-pull-side approach. Welch was firmly in the mix to represent Mississippi at the Future Games before an injury sidelined him, and his return only reinforces the tools that made him a strong candidate. The combination of game-changing speed, developing offensive impact, and athleticism makes Welch an exciting prospect moving forward. A talented 2028 who should be on everyone's radar and could be headed for a BIG spring!

Knox McCardle SS / RHP / Northwest Rankin High School, MS / 2029

The 6-foot, 170-pound McCardle put together a strong showing during the workout phase, flashing an exciting combination of athleticism, arm strength, and offensive impact. The right-handed hitter started the day with a 6.93 60, showing athletic movements that translate well to the infield. Defensively, McCardle impressed with arm strength already reaching 88 mph across the diamond, an encouraging number for a young 2029 infielder. At the plate, there's plenty of POP in the bat, with exit velocities reaching the upper 90s, giving him the ability to impact the baseball with authority. The combination of present tools and continued development makes McCardle an exciting name to monitor as he progresses through his high school career. An athletic 2029 with a strong arm, developing power, and plenty of upside. McCardle could be a name that gains considerable attention over the next couple of seasons!

Wells Jeffcoat C / OF / Jackson Academy, MS / 2028

Jeffcoat made it clear he's been putting in the work, turning in an impressive all-around performance with noticeable jumps since our last look! The athletic backstop showed quick feet, lightning-fast transfers, and pop times down to 1.97, while also posting a 7.04 60, a strong number for the catching position. At the plate, Jeffcoat found plenty of barrels during BP, producing exit velocities approaching 90 mph with a solid middle-to-pull-side approach and flashes of loft. The athleticism behind the plate stands out, and the offensive game continues to gain traction. Jeffcoat is a 2028 catcher trending UP, with the tools beginning to come together on both sides of the baseball. Definitely a name to keep on the radar heading into the spring!
