The 2018 high school regular season is wrapping up as playoff seeding begins to take shape. Yesterday, 2018 LHP/OF Bryce Brock (Lewisburg) was named the Player of the Week for April 9th  – April 15th. We take a look at the other nominations sent in by coaches around the state in this week’s Diamond Notes.

+ Ross Shackleford (Ripley) went 6-for-8 with four runs batted in, one double, two runs scored in two games last week.

+ Jadeis Carter (Rosa Fort) threw a two hitter and recorded sixteen strikeouts in one outing this week.

+ Nick English Jr. (Rosa Fort) went three for three with a single, double and a triple. On the mound struck out eight, walked one and allowed one hit.

+ Jered Bean (Houston) went 4-for-7 with five runs batted in and a double, scoring one run while driving in five more. Also hit first career home run.

+ Northwest Mississippi CC recruit, Colton Peel (Houston) went 3-for-8, with two runs batted in and two more runs scored. On the mound threw four innings recording ten strikeouts while facing the minimum hitters only throwing 49 pitches.

+ Mississippi State recruit, Luke Hancock (Houston) went 4-for-6, with five runs batted in, four runs scored, with a double and a home run.

+ Itawamba CC recruit, Kylan Carter (Houston) went 4-for-8 with two runs batted in and three runs scored. On the mound threw 5.1 innings allowing four hits, two runs while striking out seven.

+ Jacob Jaudon (Hamilton) recorded eleven hits in thirteen at-bats, seven runs scored, and seven runs batted in with two home runs and one double. On the mound, pitched five innings allowing one hit, one run while striking out nine and walking two.
