Easley Baseball Scout Day Recap

Prep Baseball Report Mississippi spent the day with Easley Baseball Club at Southaven Ms. Here are a few standouts from the event.

+ Luke Sides (2023) of Desoto Central had a great day an looked solid on both sides of the plate. The right handed hitting first baseman sprayed the ball around the field with line drives and an exit velocity reaching 95 mph. On the mound the RHP worked his fastball up to 87 mph (2285 spin) and a sharp crisp slider (2432 spin) with plus command.

+ Topher Jones (2024) of Hernando was another dual standout at the event. On the infield the rising junior showed good footwork and a very strong arm with a 90 mph throw across the diamond. At the plate, Jones showed aggressive, yet controlled actions, resulting in numerous line drives with occasional lift and an average of 90 mph exits velocity (high 96 mph). 

+ Ethan Barnes (2024) of Lewisburg looks very mature on the infield. With exceptional footwork, a strong and consistent arm, and fluid movements, Barnes makes the SS position look easy. He also shows some of the same attributes behind the plate with consistent pop times (1.97 - 2.02). 

+ Landon Harmon (2025) of East Union was fresh off a state championship and did not disappoint. The lean 6-4 righty was very clean with his delivery and the stuff was next level. Up to 86 mph with his running fastball (2350 spin), Harmons off speed arsenal was equally impressive with tight spin on his breaking ball and a very solid mimicking change up. 

+ South McCoy (2025) of Tupelo displayed an attractive skill set on Thursday. The utility player was above 80 mph on throws from both his outfield and infield positions (82 infield, 83 outfield) and his aggressive, yet controlled style of play is easy to see. McCoy also finds the barrel at the plate with exit velocities into the low 90’s and a gap to gap approach.
