Easley Scout Day: Quick Hits
June 1, 2023
Eads, TN - The Easley Baseball Club Scout Day was held on Tuesday, May 30th at the Briarcrest Christian School in Eads, TN. This event was an open event that consisted of some of the top prospects from the 2024-2029 classes within the Easley organization. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Tuesday.
Kicking off our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at some of the top performers and standouts from Tuesday. Continuing over the course of the next week or so, we will release different statistical leaderboards for the event along with other pieces of content.

QUICK HITS
+ OF/RHP South McCoy (Tupelo, MS, 2025) is making a name for himself with his power progression at the plate over the past year. The rising junior averaged 93 mph with his exit velocity with an event high 99.4 mph. McCoy, a right handed hitter, used the middle to pull side of the field mostly with several baseballs finding their way deep into the left center gap. Also a plus defender in the outfield, McCoy’s arm is continuing to get stronger as well with throws up to 88 mph to home.

Creates plenty of bat speed from the right side with some natural lift to the swing.

+ OF Eli Bagley (Hernando, MS, 2027) was a Junior Future Games standout last summer at Lakepoint and was solid once again on Tuesday. Heading into high school as a freshman next season Bagley already has next level pop at the plate with tons of aggression into contact and an exit velocity up to 98 mph. Bagley also has upside with his arm as a RHP and dares you to run on him from his outfield position.

+ C William Brick (Christian Brothers, TN, 2027) caught the eyes of our staff during the Easley Baseball Club Scout Day on Tuesday both defensively and at the plate with the bat. The upcoming freshman has a bigger and stronger frame at 6-foot-0, 170-pounds with more room left to add some potential size to the body. During the defensive workout, Brick flashed pop times in the 1.97-2.02 range, had smooth and clean transitions with accurate throws that worked up to 77 mph down to the bag. At the plate, swings the bat with aggression and looks to punish the baseball. Had several exit velocities in the 90’s and had a max exit velocity of 93.3 mph. Has natural lift and tilt in the swing, but has plenty of strength to drive balls deep into the park. Intriguing follow this summer and throughout high high school career.
‘27 C Will Brick (@CBHSBaseball) was another top performer from the @EasleyBaseballC Scout Day on Tuesday.

+ 3B Brannan Overstreet (Hernando, MS, 2027) is another former MS Junior Future Games participant from a summer ago and continues to move in a very solid developmental direction. Overstreet uses a mature approach at the plate with the ability to send line drives to all fields. More power will come, though his swing path suggests the gaps will be his target. The rising freshman is also a plus defender and can play multiple positions on the field.
‘27 3B/RHP Brannan Overstreet (@BrannanOverstr1; @HHSbaseball2014) is a young prospect to keep an eye on in the years to come.

+ C Tripp Ray (Briarcrest Christian, TN, 2024) showed everyone what progression looks like on Tuesday. The 6-foot-3 sturdy framed receiver increased his numbers in all areas from last year's Easley Scout Day. Ray was solid fundamentally behind the plate on blocks and bunts while turning in an event best 1.94 pop time and 79 mph arm velocity, both significantly better from a year ago. Ray also improved on his pop at the plate with multiple low 90 exit velo’s while working the middle of the field well with a line drive approach.
+ OF Marcus Jamison (Desoto Central, MS, 2027) is a smaller 5-foot-6, 125-pound build who is super athletic, lean and has quick-twitch actions. Got his workout started with one of the top laser 60’s at the event where he logged a 6.86. Had a consistent round of BP where he worked as a switch hitter, took more comfortable swings from the right side of the plate that created more liners and juice to the pull side. As Jamison continues to fill out the frame and add mass to the body, look for him to be a power threat at the plate as well. Skilled player who will be on the radar of our staff moving forward.
‘27 OF/2B Marcus Jamison (@MarcusJr1005; @dc_jaguar) enjoyed a solid round of BP from both sides of the dish.

+ RHP/OF KL Farr (Northpoint Christian, 2025) showed us his next level potential both as an outfielder and on the bump. The 6-3 lean framed right handed hitter used a line drive, middle of the field approach with exit velocities holding steady around 90 mph. Farr was equally impressive on the mound, if not more, using a fastball up to 88 mph (2440 spin). The uncommitted rising junior also showed his feel for a very polished hard slider with spin up to 2549. Look forward to seeing his continued development over the next year.
+ RHP/INF John Bingham (Lyon County, KY, 2025) was very exciting to watch on the mound on Tuesday during the Easley Baseball Scout Day. The lean 6-3 right hander showed tons of upside with long, loose, and whippy arm action that would excite any pitching coach at the next level. The Kentucky native stayed in the zone consistently and worked his fastball up to 87 mph with solid, yet still developing secondary stuff.
+ OF Noah Lowry (Munford, 2025) had very mature actions on the diamond Tuesday. Lowry, an uncommitted rising junior, looked very fluid with his movements in the outfield with accuracy and a strong arm (85 mph) on his throws to home. At the plate, Lowry once again looked like a young player that has slowed the game down internally with a polished swing from start to finish. Using an all fields approach and level bat path, Lowry rattled off multiple line drives during his round with exit velocities holding steady in the upper 80’s with a high of 90 mph.
+ C Brayden Holland (Briarcrest Christian, 2027) is an up and coming receiver with advanced footwork and a very solid arm already (73 mph from behind the dish). Holland used very quick feet and transfers, which coupled with his arm, resulted in a 2.06 pop time, which is extremely good for a rising freshman. At the plate he showed aggression into contact with a level bat path and middle to pull side approach. As the body matures, Holland will be a must follow for recruiters.
