Today, the Prep Baseball Report Mississippi scouting staff takes a deeper look at infield performances from the June event.

+ Dylan Bond, 3B, Lewisburg, 2019
Projectable 6-foot, 195-pound frame.  Bond pounded an 87 mph exit velocity off the tee, and he made some loud contact in batting practice showing gap power potential.  He hits from the right-side out with a slightly open base, with low center of gravity at the plate for his size, starts his hands up high, but gets them into a clean hitting slot in his load, loads back with his front knee, works on a uphill plane through the ball, and takes an aggressive hack flashing some bat speed. Defensively Bond flashed fundamental footwork, and is fluid in his actions. He made accurate throws, and topped out at 85 mph. Ran a 7 60-yard dash.

+ Alex Frillman, C/3B, DeSoto Central, 2019
Medium 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame, athletic build with room to add strength.  Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced setup, hands starting slightly above shoulders, shifting weight from front to back in load, short stride and balance throughout the swing. Line-drive approach with solid rhythm, slightly uphill path and bat speed that produced exit velocity of 87 mph. Ran a 7.5 60-yard dash. On infield worked with athletic and deliberate footwork into wide fielding position. Fielded balls out front creating momentum towards first making accurate throwing from a short, high-3/4 release at 80 mph.

+ Guice Hill, SS/RHP, Humphreys Academy, 2019
Medium, athletic 5-foot-9, 180-pound frame. Right-handed hitter starting from an open, athletic setup with hands at shoulder height and barrel resting on shoulder. Loads with a short leg lift, as hands separate working down creating separation, landing slightly open. Short, rotational path with stiffness in short finish producing an exit velocity 74 mph. Defensively work through balls with rhythm on infield after funneling balls deep and making clean exchanges. Medium arm swing producing accurate throws and a positional velocity of 69 mph. Ran a 7.8 60-yard dash.

The wiry 5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitter also showed a flat path with barrel control as he laced line-drive/ground balls during his batting practice round, posting 86 mph exit velocity. Defensively he moved with fluidity, working through the ball with his body, and delivered accurate throws with a live loose arm action and a quick release, posting an outfield velocity 88 mph. and 77 mph from infield. + Allen Williams, 2B, Cleveland Central, 2019
Lean , athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. Switch hitter starting from a slightly open, athletic setup with simple loose rhythm in hands. Loads shifting weight back with short stride. Loose, rotational path with uphill path producing an exit velocity 74 mph. Defensively worked through balls well creating direction towards target on throw. Made clean mid-line exchanges working into a high-3/4 release posting a positional velocity of 61 mph from infield.

+ Stephen Wolf, OF/2B, St. Joseph Catholic, 2019
