Scouting Report

8/2/17 Athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. Long, loose, quick arm action from a high-3/4 arm slot.  Strong at balance position, working in-line and downhill with dominate front side, some effort and good finish to the plate. The baseball jumps out of his hand, sitting 88-92 mph with late life and deception to his fastball. Secondary stuff is still developing, but he flashed the ability to spin a tight breaking ball at times, with 11/5 shape and depth at 70-74 mph and a change up with occasional sink at 75-77 mph. Slider was 77 mph with good spin.

10/16/16 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed pitcher with athletic build. Long, loose, and quick arm action from a high-3/4 arm slot. Gets to strong balance position, working downhill with dominate front side, some effort and good finish to the plate. Average arm speed for age, fastball 84-86 mph with arm side fading action. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good depth and velocity at 70-71 mph. Defensively displayed soft hand and decent footwork, and easy arm action across to first base from high-3/4 arm slot. As right-handed hitter Rascoe displayed a quite approach, with a small leg lift getting back to a balance hitting position on time. Average bat-speed with 80 exit velocity, strength in hands at contact, while finishing on back side.
