The Class of 2019 showcase took place on Wednesday, June 20th, at Northwest Community College, in Senatobia, MS. The open event saw sixteen 2019 prospects from across the state of Mississippi perform in front of several college coaches, and the Prep Baseball Report Mississippi scouting staff.

In the days and weeks to come there will be complete coverage from Wednesday’s Class of 2019 showcase. Today, our scouting staff kicks off its analysis by taking a look at the top statistical performers from the event.

+ 2019 C John Cartwright (Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS) continued to impress on Wednesday with another quality performance following his top performance at Southwest CC.  The strong, physical 6-foot-2, 240-pound left-handed hitter hammered balls to the right-center field gap with back-spin during batting practice, leaving the yard on several occassions, posting the top exit velocity of the day at 93 mph.

 + 2019 RHP/SS Chase Logan (Grenada HS, MS) posted numbers near the top of several categories on Wednesday, including an event best 86 mph fastball and an 88 mph outfield velocity.  The wiry 5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitter also showed a flat path with barrel control as he laced line-drive/ground balls during his batting practice round, posting 86 mph exit velocity .
