2019 Top Underclass Games - Pitcher Preview

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

On Tuesday, July 23rd, PBR will host the top players from across NC in the 2019 Top Underclass Games at UNC.  In it’s first two years, the Underclass Games have seen 40 players commit to their college destination, with still a majority of the event’s players still in high school.  This year’s roster is again loaded with talent from across North Carolina.  Players will go through a pro-style workout, showcasing on both the offensive and defensive end.  After the workout, players will compete in a modified scrimmage with live pitchers throwing to hitters.

Throughout the day, PBR will be on hand to collect and verify player statistics, add player evaluations through the PBR scouting staff, and add professionally cut video to each player’s PBR Profile.  PBR is the most trusted scouting service in the country with schools from across North Carolina, and the country, subscribing for the information.

*College coaches and pro scouts in attendance will receive the scout book and lunch as part of their attendance.

NC Top Underclass Games – Pitchers

Pitching is always coveted, year in and year out, by college programs and pro scouts.  The crop of pitchers attending the 2019 Top Underclass Games should draw the attention of those in attendance and following the event.  There are several arms scheduled to be at Chapel Hill and at LakePoint for the PBR Future Games July 31 – August 1st as well.  Several arms also profile as potential dual type recruits, with bats that could contribute at the next level as well.

Jordan Little RHP / OF / Hickory Grove Christian , NC / 2021

Big righty will have a chance to exceed the event's best fastball of all time at 90 mph... Little will also be at the PBR Future Games as part of Team Carolina at LakePoint the July 31 - August 3.

Isaiah Lowe RHP / 3B / Christ School, NC / 2022

We are excited to update this profile picture as Isaiah has matured from his 8th grade year into a physical presence... Bumped 90 at the PBR National Program Invitational as part of the 5 Star NC organization.  He could threaten the event's top fastball of 90 mph.  Lowe swings the bat with authority as well... He will be with Team Carolina as part of the PBR Future Games at LakePoint July 31 - August 3.

Jeremy Beamon RHP / 1B / Providence, NC / 2021

Good athlete who stood out at the MegaStars Scout Day in June... Raw but with arm strength and athleticism on the bump... Big jumps could be coming quickly...

Michael Forret RHP / Metrolina Christian, NC / 2022

An extremely intriguing rising SO who shined at the Ultimate Performance Scout Day in February... Heavy fastball peaked at 84... Showed feel for an above average arsenal of pitches.

Michael Gracer 3B / 1B / Northwest Cabarrus, NC / 2021

Dual potential... Exit velocity up to 96 for PBR... Riding fastball that has reached 84, coupled with a hard, downer breaking ball... Good athlete that should continue to tick up.

Todd Lautenschlager RHP / 3B / Myers Park , NC / 2021

Impressed at the Myers Park Scout Day last October.  Strike thrower, up to 82 at the time with solid feel for his change-up... Body should continue to mature and add strength, allowing stuff to continue to climb.
