The Academy Baseball League is underway featuring some of the top baseball academies from around Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Each team is filled with talented players from all different classes. Today, we will take a look at some of the early standouts from the Academy Baseball League.

 

Pro5 Academy

Pro5 Academy is coming off a big series this past weekend against Georgia Premier Academy. Pro5 would go on to sweep the series 3-0 with scores of 7-3, 19-4, and 6-5. Leading the way on offense for Pro5 was 2020 SS Dante DeFranco (Charlotte) and 2021 C Ayden Edwards (East Carolina). DeFranco would go 5 for 12 in the series with five RBI. Edwards went 3 for 7 with five RBI as well.

P27 Academy

Last weekend, P27 Academy took on Georgia Premier Academy at LakePoint. The series resulted in a three game sweep for P27 with final scores of 4-3, 8-2, and 6-4. 2020 Presbyterian commit Ryan Ouzts went five innings allowing no runs with eight strikeouts in Game 1 of the series, and also added two hits offensively. P27’s biggest standout on the mound was uncommitted 2021 Andrew Duval. Duval would throw a complete game allowing just one earned run while striking out ten.

TNXL Academy

TNXL Academy is out to a 3-1 record to start the Academy League. They won their series against Georgia Premier 2-1 and took a single game contest against Elite Squad. Leading the way offensively is 2021 C and recent FSU commit Jaime Ferrer. Ferrer is 7 for 13 with five RBI and three doubles. 2020 Seminole St commit Marcus Valle is 5 for 7 and Uncommitted 2021 Diego Ortiz has a HR and three RBI.  On the mound for TNXL, 2021 Michael Quevedo (Ark-Little Rock) threw four innings allowing one run with eight strikeouts in a winning effort over Elite Squad.

Elite Squad Academy

Elite Squad Academy has started the Academy League 2-3. Leading the way on offense are 2021 OF Derek Roy, 2021 3B Bryan Loriga (FIU), 2021 OF Vincent Amaya, and 2020 SS Bryan Muniz (Little Rock). Each player has contributed with multiple hits and RBI for Elite Squad.
