Middle Creek  2 Garner Magnet HS  12

A pitchers duel through four innings, tied at 2 to 2 after four innings, Garner pulled away as they got into the Middle Creek bullpen. Garner scored ten runs in the fifth, to end the game by the ten-run rule. Garner’s offense was paced by seven hits and five walks. Doubles by Jaxon Lucas and Ivan Sierra ended the game. 

Middle Creek started the scoring in the 3rd with a leadoff single from Lupienski followed by a walk.  Chaplin doubled to right, scoring two, but he was stranded as Lucas punched the next three hitters.

In the 4th Mitchell homered to right, scoring Sierra and tying he game for Garner.  The bottom of the 5th started with 8 consecutive hitters reaching base for the Trojans.  With 2 outs, in a 9-2 game, Lucas drew a walk to push the score to 10-2.  That was followed by the game ending double from Sierra, scoring Gardner and Good to end the game.

The starting pitchers for both clubs were good early.  Middle Creek’s Chace Chaplin finished with seven strikeouts.  Garner’s Jaxon Lucas worked a complete game, finishing with 13 strikeouts.
