Commitment Tracker: Dalton is an Aggie; Davidson Continues to Build

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

The North Carolina Commitment Tracker will be a weekly blog to track players and programs through the recruiting process.  Each week we will look players that have pledged their commitment with back ground on select players and their process.  We will also look total commitment numbers across the state and profile select schools as they work to complete their 2019 class.

It seems as though we say it every week, but this past week was another busy week on the recruiting trails for schools and players alike.  A total of 14 players came off the board, including 3 from the 2020 class and 1 from the 2021 class.

Shemar Dalton (OF, South  Stokes HS, 2020) highlights the players in the 2020 class making their commitment.  Dalton was a member of Team Carolina at this years PBR Future Games, playing front of 256 college coaches and scouts.  In attendance was Dalton’s future head coach, Ben Hall of North Carolina A&T.

Dalton has a lean frame and quickness is present.  He ran a 6.98 on the laser timed sixty at the Future Games and showed an exit velocity of 91 mph off the barrel.  There is a lot to like in the present package, and more to like about the player he may develop into in the coming years.
