Commitment Tracker: DEC 7 - 13, 2018
A little wintry weather across North Carolina may have slowed down some workouts and practices, but it did not have much of an affect on the Commitment Tracker with another 14 prospects pledging their commitment this week. 13 of the 14 are from the 2019 class. The lone player outside of his senior year, making a commitment was freshman Matthew Matthijs (RHP, DH Conley HS, 2019).
Matthijs is a very projectable right handed arm. He was a part of the Greenville Little League team that took part in the World Series in Williamsport, PA just a few years ago. The righty has continued to develop and impressed the Chapel Hill staff at a recent camp.
Other Commitment Notes
+ Hamden Sydney picked up a big commitment this week from Owen Tappy (RHP, Providence Day School, 2019). Tappy is a crafty righty, up to 83 for PBR in the late spring. Tappy has good command of his secondary offerings and is able to attack hitters in a variety of ways.
