Hickory Ridge Cruises Past Concord

Game Recap:
With their ace on the mound, the Bulls of Hickory Ridge cruised to a 10-2 win over Concord on Thursday. On a night dominated with a light rain and a chill in the air Nolan DeVos picked up his 3rd win while striking out 10.

In the first, Maven Parker singled with two outs for the Spiders.  A curtosey runner stole 2B and would score the game's first run, giving Concord an early 1-0 lead, on Jonathon Ackett's single to left.

Hickory Ridge would come right back, plating four runs in their half of the first. Adam Wilkerson led off with a double to right and tied the game up when B Taylor reached on an error. The Bulls four runs came out of 2 hits, 2 errors and a walk.

Staked to a lead, DeVos went to work. retiring 12 of the next 13 batters faced. With an 8-1 lead, DeVos was lifted after throwing 5 innings. He gave up the one earned run on 2 hits and 1 walk. In total, DeVos threw 56 pitches, 40 for strikes and worked ahead of 11 of the 15 batters faced.

Noah Phelps closed the game for the Bulls, striking out 2 over 2 innings, giving up just one run.
