PBR was on hand Friday night as the #24 Ranked East Lincoln Mustangs visited the Hickory Red Tornadoes for a very early season conference matchup. Both teams came into the game unbeaten in the first week of 2022.
East Lincoln was able to get on the board in the 1st inning against hard throwing Hickory starter Will Banks. Banks punched the side in the first but Garrett Michel was hit by a pitch, stole 2nd, stole 3rd and scored when the throw from the catcher got to the outfield. While Banks was racking up several strikeouts the Mustangs were able to add another run in the 3rd when Evan Matile scored on a Gavin Houser ground ball to the right side.
The Mustangs would blow the game open scoring 6 runs in the 4th inning highlighted by a Gavin Houser HR. They would add 4 more runs in the 5th for the 12-0 win in 5 innings.
