Southwest Guilford Cowboys 1 Jesse Carson Cougars 3

Game Recap:
Jesse Carson played host to the Southwest Guilford Cowboys in round three of the NCHSAA 3A west tournament. It was quite the pitchers dual all night with both teams only allowing eight combined hits.

The Cowboys opened the scoring in the 1^st, with SAC fly by Joe Specht scoring Isaiah Hairston

Carson got on the board in the bottom of the 4^th. With runners on first and second, Garrett Alewine doubled over the right fielder’s head, scoring Zeb Burns and Jake Harris, giving the Cougars a 2-1 lead. This is a lead they would not relinquish. The Cougars tack on one more insurance run in the bottom of the 6^th.

Cole Hales earned the win, working a complete game, giving up only 3 hits and one run, while striking out 8. Carson advances to the 4^th round where they are scheduled to host North Gaston for a birth in the West Regional Final
