Last Chance Summer ID: Quick Hitters - Pitchers

Brandon Hall
Mid-Atlantic Scouting Director

On Saturday August 6th PBR of NC was at Buck Hardee Field at Legion Stadium in Wilmington, NC hosting the Last Chance Summer ID and a Scout Day with Team Beast NC. Players in attendance ranged from the 2023-2026 grad classes.

The day began with catchers going through a defensive evaluation followed by pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen with Trackman collecting ball flight data. After the bullpens, position players ran a laser timed 60 using Swift Technology then taking BP on the field with Trackman gathering ball flight information. The day concluded with outfielders and infielders going through a defensive evaluation.

Below we begin our breakdown of the players in attendance. Click Here to see the full roster and stats

Quick Hitters - Pitchers

Nicholas Quinones, RHP, Swansboro HS, 2025
5-foot-8, 140 pounds.  Uphill leverage out of balance with a long arm swing and over the top slot.  Fastball peaked at 78, 2144rpm.  Solid ride through the zone with 12:45 spin tilt at release.  Elevated in the zone throughout the bullpen.   Arm strength over arm speed now.  Positioned to continue to grow as he continues to mature his frame.  Tight, late, 10/4 tilt to the breaking ball at 66-70, 1772rpm.  Some feel for landing the breaking ball.

Sebastian Rodriguez, RHP, Grimsley HS, 2025
5-foot-11, 157 pounds.  Raw on the bump but with better than average arm speed.  Medium arm swing works to a high-¾ slot.  Around the zone with the fastball at 77-79.  Solid ride with early run out of the hand.  Breaking ball spun up to 2210rpm with 10/4 tilt.  Curveball and change-up should continue to mature as strength is added to the frame.

Tucker Meredith, LHP, Emerald HS, 2025
Some strength present at 5-foot-11, 168 pounds.  Good direction and showed an ability to repeat.  Long arm swing fights for some rhythm as it gets to the cocking phase.  Over-the-top release.  Fastball at 74-76, 1830rpm.  Solid ride and run with 10:45 spin tilt at release.  Showed more feel for the arm side.  Change-up could be a weapon.  Good arm speed and deception with arm side fade at 70-72, 1241rpm.  Similar window to the fastball with 10:15 spin tilt at release.

Christian Davis, RHP, Topsail HS, 2023
Long, lean frame that will handle strength gains at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds.  Good direction and rhythm, working on-line and level.  Medium arm swing gets to a high-¾ slot.  Better than average arm speed, pounding the down zone with his fastball at 80-83.  Sink and run metricks with 10in of horizontal break and 1:15 spin tilt at release.  Breaking ball at 73-76.  Early, side to side action.  Short at times.  Showed feel for the zone.

Oakley Rempel, OF/RHP, New Hanover HS, 2024

Physical presence with broad shoulders and a strong lower half.  Stands 6-foot-4, 205 pounds.  Fights for some rhythm on the bump but showed arm strength.  Long arm action, plunging out of the glove.  Some elbow lead as he gets to an over-the-top slot.  Fastball at 79-84, 1871rpm.  Average ride, playing true through the zone with 12:45 spin tilt on release.  Solid feel for his change-up at 71-74.
