McLean Homers & Picks Up Save in 2-1 Win

Game Recap:
In a very big game between conference rivals the Garner Trojans won 2-1 against the Holly Springs Hawks . The Trojans jumped out to an early lead with a run in the 1st.  With the game tied, Garner scored the winner in the 5th.

The game’s first run came curtesey of a Nolan McLean home run to left field. Holly Springs would immediately answer in the second.  Bryan Arendt scored the tying run from 3B on a sacrifice fly off of Garner’s Dylan Wheeler.

Tied into the fifth, Bryson Galloway doubled to left field to lead off inning.   Two walks would push Galloway to 3B where he would score the game’s deciding run on a wild pitch. 

In the 7th Holly Springs threatened with back after back to back walks to start the inning.  A sacrifice bunt attempt turned into a double play when Garner’s closer, McLean made a diving catch, and doulbed up the runner at second.  McLean then got a strikeout looking to end the game.  Dylan Wheeler earned the win for Garner on the mound, with McLean picking up the save.
