Mid-Atlantic, North Carolina ProCase Highlights

Winter events were running all over the country this past weekend, including the Mid-Atlantic and North Carolina ProCases, which I attended. Both had a few prospects that are worth a follow this spring. Should they make a jump, they’ll surely generate some draft before June. You can find highlights in the video above, but here are a few notes as well…

+ OF/RHP Trey Carter (Carlisle School, VA) will catch your attention just by walking past you. He has a physical, athletic frame with room for more strength as he matures. A legitimate two-way prospect committed to Florida State, he showed off some power in batting practice with loud contact. While inconsistent, he has lift in his swing and good rotation that can make the ball fly off his barrel. He threw exclusively fastballs in his bullpen session, running it up to 92 mph. As he progresses into midseason form, it’s easy to envision him sitting in the low 90s and touching higher.
