Oak Grove Tops Ledford 4-2

PBR of North Carolina was on hand as the Ledford Panthers hosted Oak Grove Grizzlies on Friday April 8th. The two teams met the night before with Ledford winning 12-0. 

Pitching dominated the game early with Ledford starter Lucas Glover and Oak Grove starter Ethan Yarborough putting zeros on the board through the first 3 innings. The Grizzlies plated the first run of the game in the top of the 4th when Jake Smith singled with 2-outs scoring Crew Jones. Ledford would threaten in the bottom of the 4th but would have 2 runners thrown out at home, one by right fielder Gage Doss, the other trying to score on a passed ball. Oak Grove would tack on to their lead scoring 3 runs in the top of the 5th making the score 4-0. 

Ledford answered back in the bottom of the 5th scoring two runs on a Bailey Smith single to left field. Ledford would get base runners again in the 6th but Oak Grove reliever Dawson Shelton would shut down the threat getting 2 strikeouts and a ground out. Shelton would strike out the side in the 7th giving the Grizzlies a 4-2 win. With the win Oak Grove improves to 7-4 and Ledford taking their 2nd loss of the year and a record of 13-2.
