Providence Gets Strong Pitching, Wins 3-0

The Providence Panthers visited the South Meck Sabres on Tuesday night March 22nd. The Panthers came into the game unbeaten and ranked at #1 in the PBR NC Power 25. South Meck with a record of 5-3 and coming off an exciting walkoff win in 9 innings last Saturday. 

The Panthers were able to put one on the board in the first when Luke Wolff scored on a Collin McDougal ground ball single to left field. After the first South Meck starter Cole Gillis was able to keep hitters off balance and keep the score at 1-0. Providence would threaten again in the 4th but would be unable to extend their lead. 

In the 5th with the score still at 1-0 South Meck would have their best scoring opportunity of the night. The Sabres would get runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs but Providence starter Eli Jerzembeck would get a strikeout to end the inning. Jerzembeck was dominant throughout the night, going 6 innings and striking out 16. The Panthers would get some cushion by adding 2 runs in the top of the 7th. With the win Providence improves to 8-0 on the year, and will face South Meck again on Friday March 25th.
