Quick Hitters: Team Carolina Trials - Charlotte - Pitchers

On Wednesday May 31st PBR of North Carolina hosted trials for Team Carolina at Moor Park in Mooresville, NC. The Team Carolina Trials leads to identifying prospects for some of the summer’s biggest invite only events like NC/SC Border Battle, PBR Southeast Senior Games, Top Prospect Games, and the PBR Future Games. The event featured players from the 2024-2027 grad classes.
The day began with players running a laser timed 60 followed by BP on the field with Trackman collecting ball flight data. After BP, catchers, outfielders and infielders went through a defensive evaluation. The day concluded with pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen with Trackman gathering ball flight information on each pitch.

Quick Hitters - Pitchers
Brayden Bartholomew, RHP, South Mecklenburg HS, 2026
Average frame. 5-foot-11, 145 pounds. Coiled through balance. Long arm swing. Over-the-top slot. Fastball peaked at 74.6, 1984rpm.
Caleb Clonginger, LHP, North Gaston HS, 2025
Average 6-foot, 145 pounds. Long arm swing. High elbow as he works to get to the cocking phase. Fastball at 77-82, 2085rpm. Breaking ball spin up to 2540. Early, 10/4 tilt at 64-67, but has the promise to mature with maturity and increased strength.
Clay Rosser, RHP, Grimsley HS, 2025
Lean, lanky frame at 6-foot-2, 164 pounds. Spins the baseball well. Fastball up to 83.4, 2599rpm with 12:15 spin tilt at release. Average ride and stays true. Breaking ball up to 68, 2838rpm. Slight hump out of the hand with big action and late depth. 11/5 tilt. Late bite.
Connor Ferguson, RHP, Comm School of Davidson, 2025
Physical, athletic, and with broad shoulders at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. Long arm swing. Slight plunge out of the glove. Over-the-top. Fastball at 81-84, 1956 with some run. Good feel for the change-up at 72-74, 2162rpm.
Evan Myers, LHP, Lincoln Charter, 2025
5-foot-11, 150 pounds. Fastball up to 82.3, 2185 with solid ride and run. Strike thrower. Solid secondary offerings with change-up ahead of breaking ball at 71-73, 1785rpm, fading with hard sink as it gets to the hitting zone.
Gabe Murray, RHP, Fuquay-Varina HS, 2025
Athletic with twitch at 5-foot-10, 170 pounds. Early to the top and an early pronator from a high-¾ slot. Fastball up to 87.4, 2657rpm. Heavy run, boring into right handed hitters. Flashed solid slider with more sweep than depth at 70-72, 2374rpm.
Isaac Miles, RHP, First Flight HS, 2024
Physical presence at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds. Solid ride from an over-the-top slot. Fastball at 85-87, 2216rpm. Good secondary offerings with a true 3 pitch menu. Curveball sat 74-75, 2296rpm. Hard, downer tilt.
Jack Dalton, RHP, Cleveland HS, 2025
Average frame at 6-foot, 180 pounds. Solid ride out of the hand on the fastball, peaking at 85.4, 2208rpm. 11/5 tilt with depth on the curveball at 72-73, 2399rpm. Athletic arm. Good rhythm. Long arm swing to an over-the-top slot. Solid arm speed.
Jack Hedrick, RHP, Charlotte Catholic, 2024
Big frame. Physical. Broad shoulders. Strong lower half. 6-foot-5, 195 pounds. Good mover for his size with solid direction. Slight coil through balance. Short arm action loading the scapular. Over-the-top slot. Fastball at 88-90, 1923 rpm. Average ride with solid run out of the hand. Breaking ball at 72-75, 2329rpm. Slight hump at release. 11/5 tilt. Sharp at times.
Jackson Caldwell, RHP, Cox Mill HS, 2025
Athletic 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. Over-the-top slot with a high front side. Fastball up to 85.3, 2234rpm. Average ride and run. Turns the change-up over getting heavier run at 76-77, 1478rpm.
Joel Irizarry, RHP, Fountain Inn HS, 2025
Works downhill with average ride and playing true out of the hand at 76-78, 1882rpm. Late downer action to the breaking ball, rolling through the zone at 66-68, 2172rpm.
Joshua Surigao, RHP, North Myrtle Beach HS, 2024
Physical and athletic. Broad shoulders. Imposing. Not a comfortable at-bat with a long arm swing and high-¾ slot. Works with intent. Fastball up to 88.4, 1949rpm. Average ride. Late, heavy run, boring into right handed hitters. Good secondary offerings. Solid breaking ball and change-up. Slider at 68-72, 1914. Lowers the slot a bit to create sweeping action. Throws splitter with spin at 1231 for change-up.
Mason Jones, LHP, Home School, 2024
Long, lanky frame with broad shoulders at 6-foot-4, 205. Arms and legs coming at the hitter. Tough window to pick up. Uncomfortable at-bat. Fastball up to 87, 2170rpm. Excellent ride, averaging 21.1in of induced vertical break. Around the zone, elevated in the zone. Threw cutter and slider. Slider has longer action at 72-76, 2313rpm.
Owen Cirasole, LHP, Apex Friendship HS, 2026
Average frame. At 5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Intriguing future with a short arm swing woking to an over-the-top slot. Front side is early. Fastball at 77-79, 2001rpm. Solid arm speed and good fade on the change-up at 67-70, 1154rpm.
Parker Trexler, RHP, West Forsyth HS, 2025
Athletic 6-foot-2, 175 pounds. Short, scapular loading action to a high-¾ slot. Fastball up to 84.3, 2386rpm. Solid ride. Curveball and slider. Slider over curveball at this time. Slider at 71-73, 2409rpm. Short, 10/4 tilt.
Tristen Sumner, RHP, East Henderson HS, 2026
Raw on the bump with big rocker and shift across the rubber. Some length in frame at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds. Fastball up to 79.3, 2095rpm. Run out of the hand with some length. Slider is tight with late 10/4 tilt at 70-71, 2209rpm.
