Rawlings Prospects / Central Carolina Open Scout Day: Statistical Result

On Wednesday August 9^th, more than forty players assembled at Jim Perry Stadium, home of the Campbell University Camels and the A affiliate of the Houston Astros, as part of the Rawlings Prospects PBR Scout Day, and the Central Carolina Open Scout Day. The combined event allowed players from across the state, with many representing the Rawlings Prospects, to run through a full workout in front of college coaches and PBR’s staff. As part of the scout day, each player is receiving a full PBR player profile page equipped with verified stats, evaluations, and video. Stories will populate the “news” section of PBR in the coming week giving more individual details on the player’s performance at the Scout Day.

During the workout, players took a full BP, on field and went through some testing in the batting cage area. For the defensive workout, players had their arm strength measured while going through a full pro-style workout. Impressive numbers were put up by an athletic group of players ranging in age from 2018 graduates to 2021 graduates.

Scout Day Quick Hitters

+ 42 total players participated in the workout
+ 15 players ran a sixty of 7.40 or better on the laser timer
+ 24 infielders worked out… 12 were 75 or better across the diamond
+ 13 outfielders worked out… 5 touched 80 or better with a high arm speed of 89 mph
+ 3 catchers registered a pop time of 2.10 or better
+ 27 hitters had an exit velocity of 80 or better… 8 were 85 mph or better off the barrel
+ 27 pitchers threw bullpens… 7 were 84 or better… 16 were 80 or better.
