Region X: Southeast JUCO Jamboree

Brandon Hall
Mid-Atlantic Scouting Director

PBR was on hand for 2 of the 3 days of the Southeast JUCO Jamboree hosted at Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory, NC.  Lenoir-Rhyne has a gorgeous on-campus facility featuring a full artificial turf surface.  On Friday, September 8th, Surry CC, Guilford Tech, USC Salkahatchie, USC Lancaster, Southeastern CC, and Fayetteville Tech took the field, with each team playing twice.  Four games were played at Lenoir-Rhyne with two games played at the Hickory Legion Fairgrounds, home to Catawba Valley CC.  Saturday, September 9th saw Caldwell CC, Patrick Henry CC, Florence Darlington Tech, and Gaston College take the field.

With the early fall date, each game was scheduled for 7 innings with a limit of 5 hitters per half inning.  The point of the weekend was not wins and losses.  The bigger point was a chance for each club to see their roster on the field competing against a different jersey.  PBR was on hand with numerous college programs and pro scouts, who were getting their own early look at Region X as we head toward the 2024 season.

Below is a look at some of the club’s PBR was able to see with a few player breakdowns from the weekend.
