Charlotte Christian- 15  The Burlington School- 8

Charlotte Christian scored early and often to defeat The Burlington School on a windy and cold evening in Charlotte, NC. The Knights scored each inning keeping the game from ever seeming close. Charlotte Christian continues to show their program depth and their hitters had an advanced two-strike approach the whole night creating tough outs for The Burlington School pitching staff.

JD Suarez got things started in the bottom of the 1st with a 2-strike hit to left field and quickly advanced to 3rd on an errant pickoff attempt. Tanner McCammon then singled to right for the 1-0 lead. The Knights would add another run that inning on a Calvert Clark single.

Charlotte Christian would add 4 more in the bottom of the second. The Burlington School answered in the top of the 3rd with a 2 run homerun from Tucker Holland. The Knights then added 3 more runs in the bottom half of the inning on singles from Jakeman Pendleton and McCammon. The Knights would continue to answer back every inning going on to a 15-8 victory.

Tanner McCammon, 3B, 2023, Charlotte Christian

Lanky frame with room for growth ahead at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. Put together quality at bats throughout the night with a mature approach at the plate. Barreled a hard ground ball through the 4-hole, lined a ball to right for a hit, and made hard contact on a line drive to left for his third hit of the night. Sets up slightly open and balanced with relaxed hands, controlled load maintaining a quiet head. Stays balanced throughout his swing with the ability to cover the outer half of the plate. Hands are quick with his barrel staying through the zone and better than average bat speed.
