Providence Day - 2        Charlotte Christian - 7

One night removed from plating 16 runs on 14 hits, including 7 extra-base hits, the Charlotte Christian Knights found a way to win with only 3 hits.   The cross-road rivalry featuring Charlotte Christian and Providence Day, with each school located on Sardis Road in Charlotte, was not extraordinarily clean but it did feature each club coming up with key defensive stops and pitches in big situations.

Providence Day jumped to a 2-1 lead after 2 and a combination of starting pitching Will Brinley and Hudson Adams kept the Knights offense at bay, surrendering no hits through three innings.  The Knights however were applying pressure and running pitch counts up, drawing 6 walks through the 3rd.

In the 4th, the Knights would take advantage of two walks to open the inning, followed by a bunt single and an error on a sac bunt attempt, pushing Charlotte Christian to a 3-2 lead.  In total, the Knights would plate 6 runs on 4 walks, 1 hit by pitch, and 2 singles.

With a couple of arms down, and a 16-14 game the night before with Charlotte Country Day, Charlotte Christian needed some big performances from their staff.  Alex Rosen worked 3 innings, making several big pitches to quail potential big innings.  Drew Beard threw 2 innings of scoreless relief, followed by Clavert Clark returning to the mound, firing 1.2 innings to seal the 7-2 win.
