Spring Break Notebook 3: Ashley HS Tournament

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

PBR was in attendance for the Ashley HS Spring Break Tournament in Wilmington.  On day 1 PBR NC Director of Scouting took notes on several players that stood out.  Always a good event, Hall was accompanied by college coaches and pro scouts getting a look at the talent on hand.

Spring Break Notebook: Ashley HS Tournament

East Forsyth HS

Kameron Evans, RHP, 2019
Evans was originally committed to Winston-Salem St prior to the program being dropped.  Strength is present in a 5-foot-11, 180 pound frame.  Average leg kick and long arm action to a high-3/4 slot.  Evans dominated a young Hoggard club filling the zone up with a fastball / curveball combination.  The fastball ranged 79-84 with sink to the arm side.  To the glove side the fastball would occasionally cut.  The sink allowed Evans to get out of bad counts with just a solid fastball, producing week contact and ground balls.  The breaking ball acted with slurve type movement, big out of the hand at 66-68.
