Spring Break Notebook 6: Whisenhunt & Hartle in a Classic

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

PBR was out during the 2 weeks of Spring Break across the state of North Carolina.  As our scouts return home to update their files, we are publishing a series of Notebooks on what was seen when PBR was there.  Our NC Scouting Director, Brandon Hall, was able to break away from tournament formats to see Davie and Reagan battle for the conference title in the first of a two game series.  On the bump were two highly touted prospects that did not disappoint.

Davie was down 1-0 into the 7th, but found a way to scratch two runs, and hand their ace a 1 run lead in the bottom of the 7th, where Carson Whisenhunt shut it down.  Davie would go on to sweep the week and take the CPC crown.

Carson Whisenhunt, LHP, Davie County HS, 2019
East Carolina commit.  Athletic, high-waisted frame, standing 6-foot-4, 185 pounds.  High level performance with stuff and competitiveness.  Matched Reagan’s Josh Hartle pitch-for-pitch, on the road in front of a vibrant crowd.  Fastball
