Rabun-Gap Nacoochee -- 4          Charlotte Country Day -- 7

Game Recap:
A 4 run 3rd and a 3 run 5th keyed a 1st round win for Charlotte Country Day over Rabun-Gap Nacoochee. Rabun-Gap is located in GA, but in a slight twist they play as part of the NCISAA 4A and are included in the North Carolina state playoffs.

Will Jeffries and Henry Merchant combined on the mound for the fist 6 innings, allowing just 1 run, while striking out 5 between the two of them. Rabun-Gap did plate 3 in the 7th, but the start Jeffries and Merchant gave the Bucs allowed their offense some time to put up some big innings.

In the bottom of the 3rd, Country Day used 3 consecutive one out walks to get to 2021 catcher Huck Wathan with the bases loaded. Huck drilled a ball to left-center field, plating two. After a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases again, Merchant singled to left, scoring two more for an early 4-0 lead.

Rabun-Gap would answer with 1 run in the 4th. The Bucs would work to put the game away in the 5th. With two outs and two on, Stephen Payne and Cam Greene hit back to back doubles, scoring three total runs, building the lead back to 7-1.

Charlotte Country Day advances to the 2nd round of the NCISAA 4A tournament where they will face rival Charlotte Christian. Charlotte Christian had a bye in round 1.
