The 2023 Junior Future Games are underway at LakePoint in Emerson, GA featuring some of the top 2027 prospects from across the country. Team Carolina kicked off their Junior Future Games with a workout on Tuesday. The workout day consisted of a full pro-style workout with players taking BP on the field with Trackman capturing ball flight data, a defensive workout, and players running a laser timed 60. Team Carolina will take on Texas, Kentucky, and MoKan in their pool play action with bracket play to follow.

Team North Carolina - 2 Team Kentucky - 10

North Carolina took on Kentucky in game 2 of pool play on Thursday afternoon. North Carolina got a strong start from Ethan Wisler who only allowed 1 hit in 4 innings of work while striking out 6. The North Carolina offense put together some competitive at bats against the talented Kentucky starter. It was a pitchers duel early but Kentucky was able to take advantage of a couple mistakes and get on the board first. North Carolina would threaten but never could not break through soon enough. North Carolina will take on MoKan on Friday afternoon in its final game of pool play.

Ethan Wisler, RHP, 2027

Lanky frame with length  at 6-foot, 150-pounds with room to fill out in the coming years. Attacked the bottom of the strike zone with his fastball at 79-82 mph. Showed feel for getting his fastball to both sides of the plate. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape in the 69-72 mph range. Breaking ball  has depth, was able to throw it for called strikes and expand the zone getting some swing and miss. Flashed a changeup at 70-71 mph. Smooth tempo to the delivery, clean arm action with quickness from a high ¾ slot. Has presence on the mound and competes with plenty of projection ahead.

Kilby Hartley, IF, 2027
