The Hotlist: Junior Winter Standouts

The 2017 high school season is upon us with states like Florida and Louisiana getting started on Monday. Several juniors showed improvements at winter events and improved their stock. Listed alphabetically below are some winter standouts from the 2018 class.

Andrew Brautman, SS/RHP, Arkansas City HS, KS
Brautman is physically built at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. At the Kansas Preseason All-State Showcase, he posted the top infield velocity at 87 mph. He is quick to the ball and has a smooth exchange and powerful release, making accurate throws. On the mound, he topped out at 86 mph and spun a sharp breaking ball with 11/5 shape at 72-76. He ran a 7.18-second 60 and showed gap-to-gap strength in the cage, making solid contact and producing a 92 mph exit velocity.
