As the summer circuit comes to a close and we begin to prepare for the start of another school year, we take a quick look at some of the prospects that will be making their decisions in the coming months.  We begin with 2017 RHP Noah Eaker from Cherryville HS

Name:
  Noah Eaker
High School: Cherryville
Summer Team: SBA Canes
Fall Team: KC Royals Scout / SBA Canes
Position: RHP
Grad Year: 2017
PBR Rank: #65 in NC 2017 class

Scouting Notes:  From the State Games of NC, Eaker stands at a lanky 6-foot-4, 185 pounds and produces a shorter arm action, with finishing extension, that works from a high-3/4 slot.  Staying tall, with a calm head, there is a little re-coil in the front side at foot strike and a slight drift through balance at times.  The fastball ranges 82-84 and touched 85.  The breaking ball is his separator, sitting 66-68.  While the velocity should increase with time, the breaking ball produced the 10th best spin rate, at the event, with a 2506rpm.

Interview with PBR:

PBR: What Schools have you been hearing from?

NE: UNCA, UNCC, Winthrop, Wofford, Coastal Carolina, UNCW, VMI, Appalachian State, Wingate, Western Carolina,

PBR: Have you developed relationships with any particular coaches on the recruiting trail?

NE: Yes, I communicate with Coach White at Wingate weekly almost. I communicate with the rest of them every few weeks or so.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any visits planned?

NE: Yes I have visited Coastal Carolina, UNCA, and Wingate. I would like to make several more visits and possibly attend some camps.

PBR: Is there a timeline for your recruitment in place?

NE: I want to make my commitment decision no later than this fall.

PBR: What has been the most interesting aspect of being a recruited athlete?

NE: I find it very interesting being able to visit different schools and associate with a variety of coaches.

PBR: Any academic interests that will drive your decision?

NE: I am currently undecided on my intended major, so I do not have any interests in particular at the moment.

PBR: From a baseball standpoint, what are your top priorities, when looking at potential schools?

NE: My top priorities would have to be: Finances, education, location, atmosphere, environment, and the competition of the baseball program (possibility to play early).

PBR: Anything you would offer up to the 2018 & 2019 classes as they begin their process?

NE: I would like to encourage them to never be satisfied with what they already have, always strive to be the best you can be, and choose your summer teams wisely to find the right place to get the most exposure.
